Oh, who was I kidding, of course, they would. All kittens love the Catman :)
The kittens are ready to go. It was a fast two weeks but they came so far, especially for how old they are. Taming hissy kittens at this stage in the game isn't easy, so I'm guessing they had some socialization as kittens or they came from very social parents. I think they will do just fine where ever they land, just so long as Prism and Pirate don't end up in homes with kids who don't understand that the kittens need to come to them. Since they are already neutered I imagine they will be up for adoption this weekend and will be in their homes before Monday.

Don't forget, if you would like a Christmas card from me, you can submit your email address or email it to me (email address in the sidebar) If you would like to send me one you can send it to Tails From the Foster Kittens PO Box 94 W Kennebunk, ME 04094
Paris is completely and utterly ready to be adopted. She is social, quick to purr, and she is an ask no questions kind of kitten. She will be a lovely addition to any home.
Pirate is a bit less social. He has questions. Not many, but he holds back and waits to see what happens with Paris when something new happens and when she starts purring he is quick to join in. He will need a family with some patience and hopefully a nice social cat or dog to help him realize his fears are unfounded.
Prism. Well, Prism has 100 questions. No, 101 questions. She still wants to be patted without being touched which is always amusing. She also makes me feel like the witch in Hansel and Gretel.. fattening up the kittens to eat them. No matter how many times I tell her that I don't eat kittens, she is holding off judgment on if I am telling the truth. Even when I convince her that I'm not eating her today, tomorrow is still in question. I have started making her come to me by sitting down by the food bowls when feeding them. She will also come to us when we are sitting quietly and if she doesn't see the hand reach out she's good.
I made the mistake of trying to replace the cover on the couch and tuck a good portion of it into where the cushions meet when Prism was sleeping under the cover. She totally got hissed off, but I was able to calm her down and get her purring rather quickly. Then this happened:

I'm sending Christmas cards out again this year, if you would like a card from me, you can send me your info or add it to my Postable account. If you would like to send me one, my address is PO Box 94 W. Kennebunk ME 04094 (it is also in the sidebar for future reference). I also have a pile of cards left over from last year so if you would like one of those too feel free to mention that or stick all fives in the phone number at Postable.
I'm also working on creating some catnip toys to sell. Is there any interest in purchasing some? This is not a commitment, I'm just gauging interest.
Paris quickly realized that I am a "good thing" and has absolutely no problem with me touching her and is more than happy to have me rub her cheeks and scratch behind her ears. Pirate likes those things, but he has to make sure I'm not about to eat him first. Prism is absolutely convinced I am going to harm her and takes off when I make any sudden movement.
Yesterday I was petting Paris and Pirate thought that would be nice so he cautiously slinked over and hoped I would give him some attention and not all of a sudden turn evil. He received what he asked for and enjoyed it. Prism saw what was going on and she wanted to try out what the other two were obviously really enjoying but she was having a hard time getting over the fear. She'd take two step forward and then one back. Eventually, she was close enough that I could run my hand down Pirate and then just pass off on to Prism and she liked it. A lot. When she realized I was touching her, though, that became a serious problem and she took off.
She was hungry.. which helped the process because I then got up to feed them and hung out by the food bowl petting Paris who was in heaven.. food and a back rub! Pirate showed up and I scratched behind his ears too. Eventually, Prism showed up and I was able to touch her. She wanted to run when I did, but I just returned her to the food and lightly held her from running until she started eating again.
Last night Prism did the same thing.. so I gave her what she wanted until she realized I was touching her and she ran off. So I fed them and waited until I could touch her and then I left and sat down. Paris came over and jumped on the couch and I gave her all the attention she wanted. Like before, Pirate showed up and he too climbed up on my lap and we had a moment. Prism also jumped up on the couch, which impressed me to no end. I was able to reach out and touch her, which also impressed me. I was able to scratch behind her ears and make her purr.. but once again when she realized I was touching her (how she did not notice before is a mystery) she was uncomfortable and left.
So, all in all, I would say progress. I am hopeful that spending more time with them this weekend will do wonders.
Sending Christmas Cards
It is that time of year again. If you would like a Christmas card from me, you can send me your info or add it to my Postable account. If you would like to send me one, my address is PO Box 94 W. Kennebunk ME 04094 (it is also in the sidebar for future reference). I also have a pile of cards left over from last year so if you would like one of those too feel free to mention that or stick all fives in the phone number at Postable.
I received an email yesterday from the shelter mentioning they had six recently neutered kittens and I was asked if I might want to foster three of them. I immediately replied that I'd foster all six but whatever they needed was fine.
Apparently, the other three were already spoken for, so I ended up with just three. Two girls and a boy. Paris is mostly black and Prism is the tuxie. Pirate is the boy.
They were in the cage while I washed the floor. When I opened the cage door, it was pretty apparent they had absolutely no use for human beings. Paris was mostly okay with my wanting to touch her and I was able to pick her up and give her a hug and a kiss before sending her on her way to explore the room. Prism and Pirate however.. when they saw Paris was outside of the cage they doubled their efforts to get out, just not where I was.
I was able to put my hands on them and Pirate even purred for me. (He has the softest fur)
They were just neutered and are only here for two weeks until they are ready for their booster vaccine. They will go back on the 9th and go up for adoption that weekend. Hopefully, they can come around and realize just how awesome wrapping a person around their paw is. I will do my best.
The webcams are running, so you can check in on them whenever you would like.
