Super Heros story time with Travelin Jack

When it is time for the kittens to go back to be neutered, I like to have "story time" where I explain to them what is going to happen over the next few days. I know a lot of people have a negative connotation when it comes to neutering and how upset kittens will be over losing their bits, but I frame it as a right of passage.

I know that they don't understand the words, but somehow I do feel they know. When I forget story time, packing them up seems more stressful for everyone. Since this group is already neutered, they are going back to be adopted. They have an adoption event waiting for them at PetCo on Saturday so I talked about their next great adventure that will involve whole homes to roam and beds to sleep on. And who better to help me with "tails" of adventure than Travelin Jack?

It is always a little bit sad when the kittens have to go. I like having them here and having Batman meep at me but I know that going is important and they have people out there waiting for them (even if they don't know it yet)

The last few days with the kittens

The kittens are doing well. They are super high energy - especially Superman and The Hulk who love to wrestle at full intensity. Batman likes to meep at me, it is super sweet. He meeps to get me to pet him, he meeps at me when I'm done running my hand down his body to tell me to do it again.

I have been impressed with how well-mannered these kittens are Batman and Spiderman (the two who were most shy when they arrived) are usually the first to climb up on my lap for a little attention.

I attempted a photo shoot yesterday, several of the photos were a little fuzzy because they move so fast. Hopefully,  I can pull together a decent post with them anyway, because it was kinda cute.

But today we have close-ups. Just a reminder, they are going back to the shelter on Friday.

Thank goodness it's Friday

For some reason, this has felt like a very long week. We are very glad that is Friday because I should get to spend some time with the kittens.  They are still not eating nearly as much as I would like. Spiderman (down there sniffing the CatMan's shoe) has been eating the least. He is fine.. just doesn't like the food I have been offering. I found something last night he liked, thankfully, and hopefully, he continues to like it.
