But I picked this set. They think they'll only need a week or two till they put on weight. I think they'll make weight before that, but I'll probably keep them that long to work on their confidence.
Since I wasn't sure if i was bringing the last set back or not I didn't clean the room before bringing these guys in. So I set them up in the top half of the cage and go to cleaning. It took me an hour and the kittens fell asleep waiting for me. Mom, however, was more then a little freaked out. she wanted some place to hide, but since there wasn't any place there she just hunkered down. She was just a little freaked... meaning you knew she wanted to hide, but there was no real outside manifestation of it.
After an hour and a half of cleaning, getting new litter boxes set up, bleaching, scrubbing, removal of trash and laundry and setting up new bowls for food/water etc, they finally made it out of the cage. The three kittens came out first, then I went to Mom carefully. I took way more caution then was needed - since you never know with a cat you've never really dealt with. She is OK, she just really hates anything new. When I patted her I was rewarded with "elevator butt" so high she looked like a 6 inch high heal shoe! So I picked her up and put her on the floor. I stood up and turned around and was faced with a completely empty room. They all bolted for under the couch.
I went out to the movies and then went and sat with them for a while. Mom kept herself under the couch while we enticed the kits out and about with toys. The darkest red kitten is a boy, and he is like his mom in that he's slower to accept new things. The darker red kitten is a girl. She is very much like her mom and tried to stay as far away from me as she could. The few times I encroached she had "words" for me with her eyes.. The buff kitten is a boy. He was wary for a bit, then his goofballness (and yes I just made up that word and yes it fits him very well) decided it would not be contained. If he was going to die he was going to be having fun while it happened :)
They all have the very distinct facial structure of an oriental short hair.
Names.. oh what to call them??!!?

Oh, after reading all the choices, I am not sure how you could choose just one set. ;-) They are darling and mom is just gorgeous. Perhaps, since you think there's oriental in them, choose some exotic names?
