I was out shopping the other day and found a couple of festive wine bottle covers that looked like holiday sweaters. If you have been a fan of this blog for any amount of time you know I'm pretty partial to them (if the arms aren't sewn shut) to dress up kittens.
I ended up taking so many photos, that I think this is going to be a multipart post..
I thought I would start with Zephy and Wyatt. I wanted to recreate a card I had of Skippy and Kit from a few years ago..
But it didn't go nearly as well.
As you can tell Zephy's dress was quite large on her. It is an x-small dog outfit and not really designed for two-pound cats. Wyatt's sweater stayed on a little better but not by much.
I originally tried to get the sweater on Zeph but that did not go well at all..
but it was freakin cute.. as kittens in clothes often are.

let us never speak of this again.. |
**for those of you wondering why I do this, I believe it helps socialize them. It gives them something weird to endure and then come out the other side with nothing bad having happened to them. I coo over them the entire time, give them lots of love and kisses and do not leave them unattended for any length of time. The CatMan and I were watching them very carefully and any kitten that told us this was absolutely not their thing has the experience end faster.
I love that dress and the tux! But yeah, a bit big on the youngsters. And of course, you never know - maybe one of them will decide they love wearing clothes, like I do!
ReplyDeleteWell, you got one decent photo of the tux at least. :-) Adorable either way!
ReplyDeleteWe think this is a great idea, and your perspective is purrfect. And those tots are endlessly cute.
ReplyDeleteOnyx does not look amused.
ReplyDeleteLove that the dress currently doubles as a kitten tunnel. 😸
Onyx is unamused by your antics. The kittens are hilarious though....
ReplyDeleteAt one point, you had one nekkid kitten, and the other was wearing two outfits! LOL! And I agree with you; putting kittens/cats into clothes or harnesses, are a way to handle them and give them new experiences.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute ! The tuxedo kitten using the dress as a tunnel made us laugh ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteThe first two pics of the dress are pretty cute, but I would say the tail is a pretty clear sign of her feelings. It is a good way of letting them know there can be uncomfortable moments that can be gotten through. Not a bad lesson for anybody to learn !
ReplyDeleteSome cats didn't want to get dressed up! But they sure are cute.
ReplyDeleteSo cute,xx Rachel
