And totally acting like kittens again..
What I saw when I walked in the kitten room.. |
So the sneezes have mostly cleared up. The eating is a little better. The eyes are almost completely healed. I had the worst time with Radar and the eye ointment. I pride myself on being able to medicate any feline in my house just short of the three feral mothers I've dealt with that wouldn't let me touch them, but Radar would buck so hard that I was afraid of damaging his eyeball because he would lurch forward. I even burrito-ed him with in an inch of his life, and still he found a way to scare me. So I took to giving him colloidal silver drops instead. Since I could hold the dropper further away, I knew he wouldn't impale himself on it. Yesterday I ended up medicating Hawkeye and Trapper while they were standing waiting for food, and I thought what the heck, lets give it a try on Radar standing on his own two feet - and it worked really well for the first eye. He couldn't see it coming since I came at him from the side. Once he realized what I was doing I had to be quick, and I got the other eye done before he really got things wound up.
After being dewormed they started eating better. I weighed them yesterday and Radar and Hawk were under by a few ounces. I thought they were of weight when I brought them home, so I am guessing they lost quite a bit. Last night everyone was of weight and then some - so they are eating up a storm! It was their "clucky day" according to the food they got ;) (yes, for some reason that tickles me)
So I'm guessing they'll be ready to go back by the weekend. I can still feel ribs, but hopefully a few good days of an abundance of food and that will be taken care of.
What do you mean how did I find this?? I'm a kitten, it is a basket.. DUH! |
That's wonderful news about the kitties doing better. They certainly were having lots of fun playing in the video!

ReplyDeleteLOL, even at a young age, cats can find baskets. That photo cracked me up. Glad they are improving.

ReplyDeleteYou are very patient to keep giving the drops! Cat claws are so sharp! Before you know it they will be chubby little butterballs:)
ReplyDeleteA basket without a kitten is a truly sad basket--so glad this one found a kitten of its own!
