A check in with the kittens
Monday posts usually deal with how the kittens are developing, but that was preempted by Halloween.
This weekend the kittens went up to the shelter for a check in and to receive another round of vaccines. This shelter likes to give them every two weeks until they are neutered. This feels like overkill to me, but no one asked me.
They have all put on weight and they received glowing reviews from the foster coordinator. Unfortunately, Guppy had a bit of an issue with her vaccine and she was not feeling well for a few hours afterward. She curled up in the cauldron and went to sleep - which was oh so cute! She was herself later that evening.
Guppy also really likes her food. She totally saves some for later.
Trout is gaining, which is great. His stool is still soft, and he is still peeing on the floor in front of the litterbox. He is SUCH a boy. I am hoping in the next week he out grows this.
Puffer is downright adorable. She is starting to enjoy being pet and likes to play.
Flounder is quite independent and is usually quite busy exploring and investigating things.. even when those things are me, she doesn't have a lot of time.
All in all, aside from litter box issues, they are doing very well and we are doing another check in with the shelter in two weeks.

I'm glad the kittens are doing well overall! Binga reacts badly to vaccinations, so she gets them only rarely.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if neutering will help decrease the littebox issues. I've definitely seen that before and so I hold out hope for your little guy!
ReplyDeleteHis hormones haven't developed yet, so taking them away isn't the answer. He, like a lot of little boys, just haven't gotten the hang of going in the box yet. They usually do by now, and I'm sure it is just a matter of days before he figures it out.
DeleteGuppy is so adorable ♥
ReplyDeleteSuch cuties, all of them. We're so glad Guppy recovered.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love ... with all of them.
ReplyDeleteboys....sheesh but glad they are all doing well
ReplyDeleteGlad Guppy recovered, and what's with the mess on her face? Only one other cat that I know of does that, and it's Patty O'Malley...and he usually wipes it off on me!
ReplyDeleteShe REALLY gets into her food and is totally saving some of it for later :) She'll figure out how to eat without wearing it soon enough
DeleteThat cauldron picture! :D
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot of shots close together. Hope they put Guppy's reaction in her records for future reference, even knowing she might go to a different vet in the future.
ReplyDeleteOMC! They are so cute. Glad they're doing well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, nice to hear how they are all getting one and they are oh so cute
ReplyDeleteHooray for GuppY! Cats with fish names--new idea to me.
ReplyDeleteThey are all adorable. I am glad Guppy feels better.
ReplyDeleteConnie, they are all so precious. As my lovely grey kitty, Fiona, is fading away quickly, it does my heart good to see some healthy little grey kittens and remember her when she was one. Hugs, Janet and Kitties Blue
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear they are all doing well. Hopefully the litter box issues will get better.
