So I brought the fosters in this morning to the vet to be neutered. They mentioned to me they had a heavy case load and to call in the PM to see if they could go home.
Well, by the time I got into work, I had gotten a phone call that there was a darn good chance they wouldn't all be done by the time they closed, and I could feel free to leave them there for the night. I felt bad, because I knew they had no idea what was going on and it was all so strange to them. But I had to remind myself that this is good for them. The more new things they can experience the better. It makes them more accepting kitties.
Well right before they closed, I called to see how the day went, and found out that none of them were done, so it will happen tomorrow.
So Thanksgiving here was a little crazy. DH's family showed up. I worry more about how my cats are going to handle it all, and that stresses me out, which in turn stresses them out. I think I did a pretty good job of keeping things sane until the mayhem began, and a few days later my kitties seem none the worse for wear.

Well the plan was to neuter them on Wednesday, but the vet decided to go on vacation and canceled on us, so now it is going to happen tomorrow at a different clinic (dropping off at 8AM EST) and then bring them in for adoption on Thursday.
I can't believe how fast it went by.
but then again I'm saying that about the year as well. I can't believe it's practically December.

Apparently Kit wasn't ready to end her turn when Fleurp decided it was hers. So we have "sharing"
Sorry for the quality of the photo, DH sent it to me as he is home preparing for his holiday, and I'm at work. I'm glad he loves T-Day so much, so much less work for me :)

So we went out and about this weekend, enjoying the crafts and baked goods of the local church fairs. It is one of our holiday rituals, and we came home with piles of cookies, and some really nice mittens that were recycled out of cashmere sweaters.
I saw this and could NOT resist. I'm not so much a fan of the blanket itself. Don't get me wrong, it is a very nice afghan, but it just really isn't me. But it was the sign that sold it.

All of the kitties were very interested in the new "foe" that needed to be taught a lesson. Each one took their turn "killing" this new "enemy" I haven't seen them all enjoy a "toy" together since the last time I brought out the feather string toy.

I brought some more chicken down to the kittens. It took Maru a few moments to figure out I wasn't trying to pull something over on her, then she was NOT going to let it go.. Don't worry, I shared with the rest of them (and they, like Maru, were not willing to share once they got it)

Poe is such a cutie. It is a shame she's not all in your face like Maxie and Raven, but I think her personality will shine once she is adopted. Her newest thing is to lie in ambush.
no wait, I'm here!
You didn't see me
that was fun :)

So I got an email, the kittens are scheduled for their surgeries on 12/1. I'm a little sad they won't be in their new homes for Thanksgiving, but it will be nice for me to have them, and maybe playing with all the kids will be good for them.
I did bring Juno in this morning. The shelter is light on cats (not packed to the gills anyway) so maybe she'll find a home sooner. It was a little hard on me, separating the family but I kept reminding myself a) she was done being a mom when they got out of the box and b) they have to be separated eventually, no one is going to adopt the entire family. This is good for her as she is a kitty of adventure who hates being confined anyway. She was getting restless in the kitten room, and now she gets the view of the great big bay window overlooking a big field beyond the parking lot that I'm sure will have great interest to her with all the people coming and going.
I watched her after we put her in the community room. There were three other cats in there, and she appeared to ignore them (I'm sure she was keeping a keen eye on them while being nonchalant) After looking around the room several times she settled down to look out the window. As I left (I ended up parking directly in front of that window) I went to her to say bye, and she was trying to look around me to view the field. I'm sure she is going to be just fine.
So this morning I was having a rather odd little dream about gold and pirates and shopping for a desk for DH. While "shopping", I felt kitten feet on me, and realized I was having a "visitation" and I woke up to see who it was. Muffin had already woke me up earlier. She enjoys sleeping on my pillow, but hasn't quite gotten the hang of not stepping on my hair, so I had already thrown her off the bed prior to the pirates.
This one turned out to be Fleurp, who sat on my hip and purred at me. I realized there was someone else snuggled into my other hip, and figured it had to be Muffin. After a moment of waking, I realized someone else was walking over me, and thought it was Jack. Then I heard Ollie grump, and thought it must be him. I realized it was him when he turned and started licking my cheek. All I could think of was he must have had a bad dream (like when your kids come and wake you up at night) because Ollie really isn't a licker. I'm not sure if he knows his time is limited, and that his growth is back on his knee or not but I like to think not.
Anyway.. he grumped at Muffin because she dared be somewhere he wanted to be prior to his wanting to be there, which is very much his way. But he ended up making himself comfortable on the pillow that was on my right shoulder.
Jack stopped by and crawled up on my left shoulder for a few minutes, but saw Ollie wasn't in the mood so he left. Skippy came and crawled up on my shoulder completely and snuggled down... so I have Muff on one hip, Fleurp on the other, and Ollie and Skippy on my shoulders, I was starting to feel a little bit like Gulliver.
It is so nice to be so loved, but I do kinda wish they wouldn't all do it at the same time..

So HawaiiKawaii tweeted about a really cute cat comic. (the second one) I went in search of it, and was reminded how much I LOVE Cat versus Human
I'm going to post these comics here because they fit me PERFECTLY.. If this be a problem for anyone, let me know, I'll fix it.
Just so you all know, I do not own a T-Shirt that says I (heart) (cat head) nor is my hair black.but other then that...
