Can you help?

We interrupt your regularly scheduled adorableness to ask for a little help.
This is Skippy on the "favorite pillow of the house"  Every cat loves this pillow and it is well loved and over used and there is often a line to get on it.  He is currently sleeping on the fuzzy side.  The under side is a spandex type material.  Inside is all polystyrene beads.

Unfortunately at this point if we play with it at all the beads start coming out. I haven't found an actual hole and when I figure out where they are coming out I will repair it.

But I have kept an eye out for another soft squishy pillow filled with beads, but I can't find one around me as all the pillows are filled with fiberfill.  One would be great, two would be awesome..

Skippy is kinda hoping for something in a slightly more manly color..

I'm also about 200 points shy in the Fresh Step points to get The Crew a stainless steal water fountain.  I've got a plastic one, and it tends to make noise and I've had a few more incidents of feline acne since getting it so I think an upgrade is in order.  I have been collecting points for years, and am getting close. I just brought home quite a bit of litter from the shelter for the foster kittens but I'm still just a little short.  If you use Fresh Step and don't collect the codes...

I figure it can't help to put it out there that I'm looking for these things.  Even if no one reading this can help, just the act of asking can sometimes bring about what you need..
Must at least close the post with some adorableness! So saith the Fleurp

  2. Oh, I hate when the cats love something and you can't find a replacement! Those pillows are called "microbead cushions." There are quite a few on Amazon, but most are log shaped. I would think you could buy some faux fur or fuzzy fabric and glue it on a "plain" cushion. FWIW, I've found these cushions at thrift stores cheaply (I have two at home I've bought secondhand). Throw them in the washer and they wash up nicely.

As for Fresh Step, I wish I could help, but we don't use that brand. I hope someone can give you a few extra points. :-)

  3. Do you know if it's possible to transfer PawPoints from one account to another? I have 749 points, but I don't use Fresh Step anymore. (I switched to a hypoallergenic no dust litter due to my cat's asthma.) If I can transfer them to you, I'll do it. :)

Hi there. I checked eBay -- if you search for "bead filled pillow" and check it to include inside the description (not just the title of the listing), there are a lot of choices there. Re FreshStep -- love it but we use a cheaper brand, I'm afraid. :(

  5. Yup, I've checked ebay periodically. Mostly they are either too small, the wrong shape in general or priced way too high (I saw one semi close but it was quite ugly for $25)

We use litter sold at Big Lots and really like how little dust and smell it is (it is unscented) I grabbed a bunch of fresh step when the shelter got a large donation and I forgot just how dusty and perfumed it was.

  6. I think I know exactly what you're talking about. It's microbeads in a stretchy fabric, and they are sooo soft and squishy! my mother has a neck pillow like that and I've seen other pillows on Amazon. Not sure I've seen cat pillows in that though..

  7. it wasn't originally a cat pillow. It was marketed for teenage girls either at target or walmart.. I just loved the squishy and bought it. The cats just took it over..

  11. Thanks for sharing informative post. Your cushions are amazing which made with polystyrene bead. I don't like cats because some issue, but you cushion is really good one. I also made these type of pillows, cushion and bean bag with using polystyrene beads because those are amazing, lightweight, and has many benefits.
