One Drown Mouse

The kittens de-tailed this mouse last week.  Apparently now it needed to be baptized?? drown?? it wanted to go swimming??

I understand that people theorize that cats put their favorite toys in places of importance.  Food bowls and water bowls are places of importance, but it does render the toy pretty unappetizing after that.. I mean who wants to play with a wet toy.  I'm sure this mouse made its way into the food bowl prior to ending up soaked.. I'm just glad it didn't end up in the litter box (and if it did, don't tell me)

They were full of it this weekend..
Which is always fun.  But there was a little hitch in our giddy-up.  More on that tomorrow.

  1. At the shelter where I volunteer, I am always finding toys in the water or food bowls....the worst is the catnip toys in the water, the toy gets tossed out and the water looks REALLY really gross!

  2. Thank goodness none of the kitties here drown their toys. Something I am truly grateful for.

  3. Boodie often leaves toys on the bed for the humans. I always thought this was the equivalent of leaving the horse's head on the bed like in the first Godfather movie, though.

  5. LOL! I am such an idiot! When I first looked at this I thought it was a real mouse. I should know better since mine do the same with their toys on occasion. Maybe I just need new reading glasses.

  7. No, not an idiot :P I had to look twice when I first saw it in there too. I'm just glad I didn't think it was a real mouse though - we have those outside of the house but so far *knock wood*

  8. Tim does that. And mom is sure it IS Tim cause she has caught him in the act - several times. And like you, she isn't sure why cats toys (not just mice here) need to be drowned (and we aren't telling). Best is when we can get Tim to drown one and then leave it in the hall in the middle of the night for mom... hahaha

  11. Oh dear Cod! How cute are they?? When I was just a young'un I used to baptize all my toys. I don't do it anymore though, because 1) I don't want to play with soggy toys and 2) I don't want those furry gross things in my clean water bowl!!

  12. That's not a real mouse??? We had a kitty, Minnie Pumpkin, who put all kinds of stuff in the water bowl. It was pretty funny the stuff that would wind up in there.

  13. I also thought it was real lol. Austin plays with his "toys" outside, thankfully. Often they are drowned, beheaded, chewed! Such a sweet boy!!
