Good news and bad

Snow sure does like being patted. She gets a little grumpy when you first walk in the room until she realizes you aren't going to eat her kittens.  She still isn't coming right out, but when she does she is all ready for some patting.  The poor girl needs a serious bath - with all of those kittens pooping everywhere their little behinds are - including on her *eeeew*  I am reluctant to do that since the kittens aren't obviously on the road to recovery yet.

The three gray kittens are appearing to be doing better. They don't feel as light and they feel rounder and less bony.  Issac Arnold and Smedley are still so irritated that they are biting at me when I try to clean them off.  I brought some KMR down and at first they seemed interested in it, but didn't eat very much. After their bath they went right to sleep.  The long haired girl whom I have taken to calling Mishka (which has S, M and I accounted for) is also having a very hard time.  Smed has almost pure white stools.  If we do not have dramatic improvement in those by tomorrow I'll contact the shelter about it. (it is a sign of bacterial overgrowth)

After starting the meds, we have gone from eggs and cream colored and consistency stool to thick mustard and a couple that are even 'roundish' in shape.  I am fairly certain these are from the grays.

One of the gray kittens has taken a liking to me.  She comes over and crawls up in my lap.  She is wicked cute because she needed a full bath the other day and since then she still looks slightly wet.  Her fur has that kinky curly look to it that kitten fur gets when it is wet.  I think it would be awesome if she stayed like that but I doubt she will. I am still working on a way to visually tell all three of them apart and just when I think I've got it figured out I double check and get it wrong.  They are like a furry shell game.. If it comes to it I have my ways of distinguishing kittens apart..

we had a crew here once that ended up wearing collars - 5 tiny brown tabby kittens....no way could I tell them apart without grabbing them and staring at their stripes

  7. Well, you wouldn't be the first person to put paper collars on kitties to make it easier to see who is who. We hope everyone keeps hanging in there.

  8. Here's hoping everyone settled down, and bathes! Maybe a ribbon or two will sort out who's who?
