The Crew try out the #SkratchKabin #sponsored

When I was at BlogPaws I met up with a contact who wanted me to do an honest review the KatKabin in exchange for one. I have seen these on other blogs and I thought the cats would really like to have one. They have two versions; the hard-shelled KatKabin for outdoor use, as well as a carpeted SkratchKabin for indoor use. We chose the SkratchKabin.

As you can see from the photos it was a hit from almost the moment it came out of the box.

Eli was in this thing every single time I walked by it for almost a week.

I finally found it unoccupied and I moved it out into the solarium where it very quickly became part of Jack's daily routine.  In fact it was loved so much that the padding that came with it was completely covered in fur and needed to be washed so I stuck a different pad in there which is still there because every time I go over to the Kabin to put the original padded bedding in there there is a cat in there.

Jack really loves this in the morning. Once we get up and start our day he has been lounging in here and I've had to be sneaky with his daily thyroid pill so I don't have to get him out of there.

Another kitty got to the Kabin before Jack could get there, apparently Fleurp claimed nexies..

Fleurp wouldn't even get off to defend whatever it was that Muffin said right before I took this photo they had a small game of wappy paw and Muffin tried to lure her away..

Suffice it to say this thing is a hit. I had intended to give it to the foster kittens, because I imagine it would be freakin adorable to watch kittens climb this and then spill out of it after nap time, but I don't think I have the heart to take it away from my cats.. They get so little (pic), they are so abused (another pic) and they deserve a little something all of their own..(ha ha ha ha ha)

It will stay in the solarium until they stop sleeping in it at which point I'll move it somewhere else and it will be a whole new awesome thing and they will love it all over again.

If you want your own Kabin, let me share with you a coupon code to help you get it at a 20% discount through the end of the year. Use code REFTH7Z7 at KatKabin.com  They are originally $99 with $29 shipping and the coupon brings it down to $108.20  The code is good for all of their products and accessories. If you have an outdoor kitty and it is becoming colder where you are remember these Kabins are up off the ground. They have accessories to help keep the kitty warm too.

I should also mention the cabin came with a 'tail' appendage that they hung a little toy mouse from so your kitty has something to play with. I had a feeling that a cat would play with the mouse when another was in there and annoy them so I chose not to add it on. You might not have this issue and could easily find this a benefit.

  3. We love our Kabin, but we never sit on top like that! Maybe we need to ask to have it put in a sunbeam.

  4. I've wondered about these for my feral cats, but the price (even with coupon!) is too high for us right now. Good review, however!
