Bite, bite, "ow", lick. Bite, bite, "ow", lick

All of the kittens are a bit mouthy and enjoy chewing on my fingers and toes. Fortunately, they have really good manners and when I say "ow" they understand that I am being hurt and they stop and lick me - which is the proper protocol for kittens. When they play and rough house and go too far, a sibling will cry out and play will stop. To make up for hurting their sibling they will lick them as if to say "sorry". It is really sweet. I'm hoping that in a few more days they'll understand that biting me is always painful and they'll stop. Sometimes kittens really like to chew on their people and just keep doing it, but they can learn to do it gently

  10. I have one that learned that very soon, but he'd still need to bite, so he turns his head whenever he's about to bite exposed skin and tries to find some fabric to bite on instead. Unfortunately, I'm usually immediately under that fabric and get bit. He gets very confused when I exclaim "ow". This has been going on for fifteen years...

  11. Adorable! Well, I mean until you've been bitten enough. I'm not an expert on kitty learning ... but I suspect Bear never learned the art of love bites. Nope. He chomps down with all he has - or nothing. The difference became VERY apparent when we adopted Ellie. She hardly uses teeth at all - and I think she gets frustrated when they're playing.

  13. Well, I've got a six-year-old cat who never stopped biting, but he knows he's not supposed to, and he looks ashamed right after, so how mad can I get? He's too cute. haha.
