Facebook

OK then..

I'm very reluctant to join Facebook as I fear it as being the all powerful all consuming gatherer of information and while I know that is probably silly, every time I turn around I hear something else that it is doing that is just downright off putting.

But you suggested Facebook, and really when you get right down to it, you are right.  I am hoping I can manage it well enough and Facebook isn't as nefarious as some of the rumors say they are.. (heck even if they are they have a bazillion pieces of data and picking out mine for something odd like the time Target sent advertisements for baby stuff to a girl who no one knew was pregnant)

So with out further adieu.

(and feel free to vote for Fleurp too... I stuck the link on there)

and now that I've wasted the entire morning at work doing this, I really should get back to doing what it is I actually get paid for.  I'm going to end up creating a link somewhere on my blog sidebar for this and I'll at some point create a Twitter handle (sooner if someone says they'd love to see me on Twitter)

  1. I've "liked" the page, but it's not showing up on my FB. Maybe it needs a couple of hours before it shows...

  2. Facebook is a little odd. I have an account through work and I couldn't find it after I created it unless I used the url, so I guess it isn't as instant as I would have liked.

I also can't seem to like anyone back. Guess that comes from being a 'fan page' and not an official account, I'll see what I can do about that.

    Thanks for the likes!!

  5. I am still a Tweeter virgin. May get to that eventually. Not a huge fan FB either but well, got to stay up to date. Hehe.

    I'll be back,

  7. I resisted joining fb until very recently and for just the reasons you mentioned. Since it's the preferred means of keeping in touch for my church and my civic association's citizen patrol, I finally caved.
It can be bewildering. I'm still finding my way.

  8. I am just too overwhelmed with my CB blogging efforts to venture any further into FB. I'm on there, but the pure number of emails that I get about people I'm not even all that familiar with, is quite daunting.

Too many of our CB friends have abandoned their blogs to go purely FB. I hope you aren't one of them, too. Dante would miss you.

  9. Oh Dante, don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.

I just plan on having it to post updates when I post and maybe an odd cute cat thing that I might come across after I've made fifty million blog posts for the day.. :)

  10. I don't use FB much for posting anything important related to my life, however it's interesting to read what other people/cats are up to. You can control what information they have about you by what information you give to them. And for good measure, it's always fun to mix in a little misinformation too for their database.

  11. I am in full agreement with you about FB. I haven't gone there yet. The scams and stuff bother me a lot. But one day I may put up an account, I signed up for Twitter and didn't tweet for years and then all of a sudden I got the hang of it and I love Twitter. But everything and everyone seems to be on FB.

  12. The great thing about Facebook is it's much more "instant." You just write and post in real time, instead of scheduling specific blog posts.

  14. We aren't on FB or Twitter. Our mom is just hoping they are a fad and will go away. She's on the computer enough as it is, and there are things she doesn't like about FB.

Thanks for coming to our party. What a wild bunch of kittens! It took every one to keep up with them and keep them out of trouble. They were the life of the party. Of course, the older cats were lot of fun too!

I will find you and hit the ole' 'like' button...but frankly, I still don't do much with my FB page other than share my blog posts with it...I just can't seem to do all and I like Twitter better when I have time to hang out there and chat with the other anipals
