Filling the cupboards

So last week I blogged about different things you could do to support your local shelter, so on Friday when I fed the kittens and saw this after I pulled out the cans to feed them...

I knew I had to stop by the shelter right quick.  I still haven't checked to see if that can of Innova is part of the recall or not, the AD is for emergencies, and the Fancy Feast in the back there is for diabetic kitties I might foster.  I'll feed it in an emergency but I prefer to hold on to it.. So when I got out of work on Friday I was headed home when I remembered I needed to stop at the shelter.. and low and behold I was just coming up on my local grocery store, so I thought I'd make a quick pit stop and follow my own advice.

For ten dollars I made the staff very happy on a near 100 degree day and I made some small animals happy with the kale and carrots I got.

And I made some kittens very happy by bringing some food home..

Sadly though, this might last me the week.. and this might be why..

What?

Have you seen your belly lately??

  4. Great idea to treat the humans too!
The Innova recall is just for dry cat food. I verified that recently since we feed our kitties Innova lowfat.

    1. Thanks Deb! I never remembered to grab the can to look, so I figured what was the point of looking if I didn't have the can :) Now I know what they are getting for dinner so I don't have to look at that can any more ;)

  14. That was a wonderful thing to do! And as mentioned above the Innova is only dry, made in a different plant. However, it's at least their third recall since they were bought out, so no more occasional cans.

  17. Mommy is really miffed at us for how far behind we have gotten with commenting so we are going back more than a week to read and catch up. That cupboard was looking pretty bare. Good thing you stocked up. You might have had a mutiny on your hands. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
