The Auction's End.

Well, that was fun! :) I spent a couple of hours this morning totaling everything up and since Alana's portrait isn't yet over (I extended that a few days and will end tomorrow) at THIS point I have bids for about $850!!  I need to collect from everyone and there are a few people I need to connect a name (that they bid with) with a person (so I can get them a total).

So if you are, or know please contact me and let me know:

"Susan"
"busserra"

I do have a bunch of other items that I'm looking to list later, most likely the middlish of November. I hope you won't mind my hawking away again.. If you have any suggestions or comments on things I could do differently, I am totally open to them.

And I honestly can not say this enough, thank you all so much for supporting me, and my boy..

Last few hours for the TFKblog fundraiser

Sadly I have had quite a few stumbling blocks on my first auction/fundraiser.  A lot of the posts weren't coming up even for me after I went to view the blog on Monday, so I went into the back end and tried to change the settings so more posts showed up on the front page (I set it to 100, so there is no reason for it to need an additional page, but yet there it is) and I removed the word verification on the comments (why on earth do they default to those being on, everyone hates those) and allowed anonymous comments for those people who might want to use that option.  Even still I kept getting people commenting on the posts I shared on Facebook that people hadn't seen the particular items up for auction and some had trouble commenting.  *sigh*   I can understand why people do this directly on Facebook, and I am very tempted to try that when I list the next batch of items I have.

There are still some items with no bids at all. A few with just one.   I am okay with this, I am happy to part with these for what ever I can get for them because every dollar counts. As a woman who picks pennies up off the ground, I know full well that every little bit helps.

What moves me the most has been the help I have received from my fellow bloggers and friends. My fundraiser has been shared on blog posts, on Twitter, and on Facebook by so many of you, and that means so much to me. I have also had a few people reach out to me to donate items to help, and for that means a lot.  Thank you Alana, Sukiroo and Emily.. Thank you seems a little inadequate.. but it comes from the bottom of my heart.

An update on the kittens

I have names now.  The long haired girl came with a name, Tiger Lily.  She was such a princess though I had to know if there was a Princess Tiger Lily, and interestingly enough there is one..  She is from Disney's Peter Pan, which opened up the door for names for my little "formerly faeries" kittens..

Mr. Smee

We had a bit of a scare with Smee this weekend. I didn't spend a lot of time with them Friday morning, and when I went to see them in the afternoon Smee was very quiet and isolating himself.

It took a bit to figure out what was going on, but he was not weight baring on his left front leg and he had a fever of 103.3. I called the shelter and was unable to reach anyone, but since he did eat, and was bright eyed and purred and went pee for me, I figured he could wait until the morning. In the morning he was still limping so I took him into the shelter when he went about trying to make a fibber out of me.  They did eventually see him limp a little and ended up taking his temperature which was 101.9.  They decided the best option since he was so improved was to 'wait and see'.  I brought him home and he was very quiet all day, but happy..

Today he is seeming a bit better.  Still quieter than he has been, but limping less. Interestingly enough they all switched from canned food to dry just as this happened.  They were easily eating six cans of wet food each day and gobbling up the dry when it wasn't enough. They went down to three or four cans and consumed far more dry food. It was just weird. Hopefully he will continue to improve because they are scheduled to be neutered on Thursday.

Would you like to see the kittens leap some more?

I got a toy to review and I thought it would be fun to do so with photos of leaping kittens. Sadly the toy had some issues, so I'm not going to review it without talking to the company and two days after emailing them about my issues they haven't emailed me back so I'm just going to let you watch them leap.

Wednesday's post were some of the better photos I took while standing up. I thought it might be hard to see just how off the ground they got, so I sat down. Sadly they are so very fast and my camera isn't so I had to take autofocus off and thus quite a few of these are fuzzy, but you get the jist of the idea and can see just how goofy these guys (and girls) are.

So, I have some more.. would you like another post of leaping kittens?
