Cats and Snow

Yes, the snow on the deck is up over the cat's head.. in some spots it is about four feet high.. no, I am not thrilled by this in the least, but it does bring about one of the cat's favorite activities.. watching the snow for possible rodent tunneling. One year we had something small tunneling into the snow and hanging out right by the glass.. The cats LOVED it.. I once again wasn't thrilled but it didn't do any damage so I just let it go..

I don't think we have a rodent in there now but darn it if they won't stop looking..

and just as an FYI this is why my world looked like BEFORE we got the last foot of snow that came in yesterday..

  2. Wow! You sure got a lot of snow! It sure looks pretty, but I sure don't envy you having to shovel all of that!

  3. We see you guys got hit too. We got about 10 inches or so Sunday night and Monday. There's so much snow in the back space that our human can't shovel it for us now, though oddly, the back step remained clear!

45 days till the spring equinox. Another month beyond that before WE get real spring. LOL.

  5. Wow that's a lot of snow! We only received 6 cms. (a little over 2 inches) in January and not a lot before that. I seriously doubt we'll avoid it for the rest of winter but hopefully we don't get anywhere near that amount.

I'm sure the cats would enjoy seeing another critter! As long as he/she doesn't get into the house.

  7. So far, I think our total snowfall was about 1/4 of an inch--I may be exaggerating. I even blogged about it when it happened! Now I am embarrassed! But I lived in northern Maine for a few years, so I know what it is like.

  12. Holy cats, that's a lot of snow! Rodents tunnel in snow? Yet another reason the head peep won't come north of the Mason-Dixon line until after spring thaw. Eek!

  13. Thankfully here in northern Vermont it hasn't been that bed. About 7" last week and 5" yesterday.
