Okay, okay, that is minutes, not days, but it FEELS like days..
Truth be told it has only been 42 days since I last had kittens, and for the beginning of spring in Maine, that is not bad. Only problem is I've made friends with all kinds of people via social media who foster and they all have kittens.. and I don't.
Kitten fever.. it burns..
So let's see.. Robyn has kittens..
Random Felines has kittens
Orlando Kittens has kittens
Stacey Hurt even has kittens
and I have
*sigh*
*hugs* I have no kittens either! Though, that's more because I don't have the time to take on a new litter right now, as opposed to there not being any litters out there. I miss my babies!
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose your shelter would ever import some kittens from down south for you to foster? I know the transport thing is more established for dogs, but there seem to be so many kittens down here, surely they could bring some north to be fostered and adopted.
they are importing kitties from down south and from up north of us, but they can't get them in fast enough to get kittens to all of the fosters.
DeleteAwww! You will get kittens soon. I was thinking for a moment that kitten season was getting a late start for you, then I realized that being in Maine, it's almost always going to be later than the rest of the U.S. Stacy is lucky (although the same can't be said of the local feline population) - being in southern California, she has kitten season all year round so all she has to do is ask, and I'm sure she receives.
ReplyDeleteKittens are cute but all babies grow up such is life
ReplyDeleteWe agree with Kelsey - maybe your local shelter that you work with can import some? It's just sad, seeing an empty home where tiny tots should be.
ReplyDeletethey are importing them, but they can't get them in fast enough to get kittens to all of the fosters
Deletewe need to start a "get Miss Connie kittens" petition
ReplyDeleteyes please
DeleteI know the feeling, I went a month and a half with no kittens in south Florida, which is odd. Then I got a mother and babies and now I have 4 babies. They keep you busy.
ReplyDeleteI get my kitten fix vicariously from you and Robyn and Laurie and Jeanne, so when none of you had them, I had a sad! But I suppose being in Maine, kitten season will start later there - just like spring. (I sympathize from mid-Michigan...)
ReplyDeleteYes, yes it does :) someone posted about their peonies the other day, all up and blooming, and mine still haven't peeked out from under the ground yet.
DeleteThis post cracks me up! You show 'everyone else has kittens!', but then a bare Happy Bear tummy. I feel your pain, and hope some mama cat needs a home with you SOON!
ReplyDeleteThis is rather sad. Bet you'll be inundated soon. Thanks for sharing all these bundles of fluff. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
ReplyDeleteKITTENS, you need them.
ReplyDeleteHang in there!! The universe is just making sure that your decks are clear when the kittens who need _you_ the most are ready.
ReplyDeleteWe're purring some kittens come your way soon.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, they're coming, I can feel it! (You should just move down here, you'd pretty much have kittens year round! ;) )
ReplyDeleteHappy Bear has the memories of all your kittens ... hopefully you'll be making new memories soon!
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh about the stuffies... I have a stuffie bunny named Suds and he helps to fill the hole that our cat Z left when she left us too soon. Hoping kittens come your way. I would love to watch your cam!
ReplyDeleteAw, you'll get 'em soon! Meanwhile, The shelters in the Boston area hardly have any cats!! Whats up wid dat??
