2 grams
I weighed the kits before their morning feeding, and they gained 2 grams each. I couldn't help but think how pathetic that was (but again being grateful for every gain)
So when I ran home at lunch, I wondered what a gram looked like. It was 3 pieces of one brand of kibble, and 5 of the kitten kibble. A dime is 2.3 grams.
I took time off today to give them an afternoon meal. I'll "run an errand" for work and make a short detour and feed them tomorrow, and Friday I have a short day.
How much longer until they are eating on their own??? (suppose I have to wait at least until their eyes are fully open)
Btw, Jordan put the babies back in the cubbie. *rolls eyes* I tried tricking her and putting them back in the box, but she started moving them so I put the remaining kits in there with her.

Back into the box
Jordan has been leaving the kits a little more regularly now. She's coming out when I walk in the room, and is eating away from them, so I thought I'd move them all back into the cage last night. I had a feeling she would just move them back - as she has previously when I moved them on her, but this time she settled down. They were still in the cage in the morning, and they are still there now. I'm glad, I get all nervous when there is a real chance she could lay on them (I know they can get out from under her, but I'm still nervous)
weights:
Girl #1: 145
Boy: 153
Girl: #2 135
I'm not all that happy about this, as they only gained 10g in two days - but it is a gain, so that is good. So I did what I could to fill them up, and got 10g of food in them.

another odd dream
I didn't weigh the kits last night, so no update on them other then they seem to be doing well.
I had an odd little dream last night. I was in the house I lived in previous to this (5 years ago) and there was "family" there. Awake I didn't recognize anyone, but I knew them to be family. There was a little girl there. She was just learning to walk I think, and at one point she fell down and went pee all over the floor. I rushed to get her up before she got up and stepped in it and walked all over the house with it (something I do with kittens when they walk in things). Instead of turning around and using the sink that should have been behind me, I walked her down the hall. Apparently in my dream my kitchen sink wasn't in the kitchen. As I walked, I saw Ollie curled up in a ball sleeping. I remembered thinking how odd that it was he was there (and it would have been if the dream was real because Ollie was not one to hang out when we had company. He hid so well no one including me could find him) I got to the sink and it was full of dishes and pots and pans. I tried to hold on to her and turn the water on, but I was having a difficult time when my uncle (who recently passed) stood up and moved an oven rack and turned the water on for me.
Such an odd dream to have two recently passed loved ones show up. Even odder the context of it.
