FYI, I still have PLENTY of Christmas cards waiting to be mailed out. If you would like a limited edition one of a kind "Christmas from Casa de Gato" card (well okay technically they aren't 'one of a kind' but one print run of its kind), feel free to email me your address or enter it here
This little boy was being fostered by a shelter worker because he had a pretty bad cold. He had been on antibiotics for a couple of weeks and he was still congested and wheezing so the vet recommended taking him off antibiotic and simply let this cold run its course.
Look at those toes!!!
Because I was itching for more kittens, and because he was apparently being a little terror where he was, arrangements were made for his stay at Casa de Gato.
He found Happy Bear in record time
Because I still had Lovey in the house he ended up being stuck in my bathtub. It is not ideal for me as I do like to shower, but it is kind of necessary for me to put a barrier between a sick kitten and The Crew and what better way to do that than with a shower door... so he, like Fleurp and Skippy, came and hung out in my bathtub for a couple of days.
Fortunately Lovey's new mom could come up and get her this weekend so he didn't have to stay in there for long. It was a nice intro into his personality though, as he was a very good boy even with the limited amount of room he had and a litter box taking up a third of that room. He was very willing to let me know he wanted out whenever I went to check on him, but once I shut the door he amused himself or took a nap.
As soon as I could I moved him down into the kitten room, and he was very thankful for the extra room.
He really wasn't in the mood for posing nor for a flashy box going off in his face, he had esplorin to do!
So I left him to explore and went out shopping for a while. As we were driving home I asked my husband what we should name the kitten. It was more a way to start up a conversation since he never has an opinion on what we should name the fosters, but interestingly he simply blurted out "Gandalf".
A little taken aback by his naming of the kitten that I decided that is what I will call him.

My husband also now thinks he is evil..
because Gandalf climbed right up into his lap and said hello. You know those evil little kittens that sucker you in with cuteness and their only kitten status and make you love them and keep them even though you have absolutely no intention of doing that (points to Fleurp and Skippy) (and also points at Kit and Twee as they both stayed behind from their litter for health reasons)
I have declared I'd never ever foster an only kitten again..
but seriously..
someone online will adopt him.. right?? I mean who doesn't want a double pawed, milk mustached kitten?? (besides me)
For those of you waiting for Lovey's adoption story, that will come tomorrow.
Oh, I am sure there are LOTS of people who would love to take this one off your hands! Or should I say, pry him out of your cold, dead hands?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Lovey's adoption story!
