I received a very sad message from Allie yesterday morning.
It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing to you. Sadly this morning, while I was getting ready for work, Scoresby (née The Kraken) passed away suddenly. We rushed him to the vet, but it seems to have been a stroke or heart defect that they can tell to the best of their ability. It may have been something he was born with or an undiagnosed disease. I can tell you that he was his playful and loving self up until the very end and will be missed greatly.
Goodness I love this photo of him
I hope I do not bring down your morning too much, but I know you loved him as a kitten and would want to know. Thank you for helpin bring him into our lives. As sad as I was to hear it, I am glad she told me. I follow her on social media and would be wondering what happened to him. My heart absolutely breaks for her.. not that it didn't crack a bit on its own at the thought. He was an amazing kitten.. my little bonus boy..
‘Goodnight you prince of Maine, you king of New England.’
Run free over the Rainbow Bridge, sweet prince.

ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry to hear this. I know how sad you must be as well as Allie. This is such sad news.
ReplyDeleteThat was a very good post you did on declawing. I don't know the reason Annie's previous owners got her declawed. I always assumed it was to protect their furniture. I believe she was one years old when it was done. The last time she was at the vet--almost a year ago now--I had the vet look at her paws to see if she could tell if there were any problems. She goes through stages of constantly shaking her paws. The vet said everything looks fine, but if there were any damage, it would probably be detected by an x-ray. Fortunately, she does not bite. She's a very nervous kitty but I don't know if the declaw is the reason.
That is so sad, I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad day. We remember this charmer well, and it is hard to comprehend he is gone at just one-year old. Please pass our condolences along to Allie. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
