How to make belled ball cat toys even more interesting

I am not a fan of belled ball cat toys, as they make a lot of noise, and they end up in a corner and are no longer considered a toy until I 'rescue' it.  A while back I put a few pipe cleaners on one which causes it to not roll as fast, so the toy doesn't make as much noise, and it takes a lot longer for it to end up 'out of bounds'

  2. I hate noisy toys. Thumpy little paws make enough noise! ;-) Our favourite toys are the little plastic springs and the soft foam balls. They get lost, too, but somehow seem to be more ... retrievable. I do have some of the belled balls, though; I'll have to get some pipe cleaners. Great idea.

Oh my goodness. I LOVEEEE your blog. I will need to follow this as I have thought many times about volunteering to foster kitties! Maybe your blog will inspire me to actually sign up! Oh and this is a great idea! When I get my kitty I will need to do this!

  9. What a great idea! Pipe cleaners could probably rejuvenate a few toys around here.

  10. In general we don't like store bought toys. Yes we play once, twice but then we get tired of them. Our best toys are the faux fevver decoration and the tennis ball and crumpled paper. Our pawrents are saving a ton on our toys.

  11. What a great idea. I may try this with the shelter kitties since many love to play with those jingle balls. ~Island Cat Mom

  12. Our Snictoria loved pipe cleaners and I'd twist up a few and make her a "victim" that often went into the water dish. Then I discovered that she liked to bite off (and maybe eat) the ends, which I'd curled into blunt little coils. No more pipe cleaner toys after that!
