I was told that the kittens had a vet appointment on Wednesday at 3pm so I packed the kittens up and off we went. I went down to the foster room and packed up their blankets (so they would have something to smell like them) and some of their favorite toys and then rounded up kittens.
Sunsweet and Marble were the last ones to be snagged and when I turned around to find them they were sitting close together on one of the toys in the room. It was so sweet. I have said it before if they weren't picked to be adopted together I would have insisted on it.
I picked up Marble and gave her some love and plopped her in the carrier and turned around to find Sunsweet and found he decided to "use the restroom before leaving".. he is such a good boy.
Their physicals went well, no reason to put off adoption. The fecal was negative, they didn't have a fever, their heart and lungs sounded good.. so the rescue took them from me for their adoptions. Two were that afternoon another was to be the next day.
I knew it was coming, but to come home kittenless is hard.. that's okay though, the room needs a good cleaning and I'd like to get up the climbing wall we have planned.. (ha ha ha.. with this heatwave coming probably not). I also want to change out the sink in the bathroom and put new flooring down. I'm trying to decide if we want to replace the toilet that is in there and I'm thinking I do.
But I do have to say, I hope I get kittens before all that happens (since I've been looking for a sink for months now and haven't settled on anything at this point)
One final look at Hedy's kittens..

ReplyDeleteHello to all my feline friends,
ReplyDeleteFirst I want to thank Connie for taking exceptional care of these little ones. I volunteered at the shelter for years and I cannot say enough positive things about this foster home or the shelter that handled the adoption. It was one of the best experiences I have ever been through.
Slate (the dark grey one) is now known as Jasmine. She made that decision and is already responding to her name. I thought that was impossible but it is definitely happening. She had a 45 minute drive to get to her new home and was the perfect little princess! The first thing she did after being shown where the litter box was was to use it. She has many sleeping options in her room but decided that sleeping on top of me was her best option! She had a brief introduction to Tinkerbell and we will continue to work towards a friendship over the next several days.
Whoever adopts them is lucky.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, kittens! Be happy...be well! (We're sure gonna miss this group.)
ReplyDeleteI'm already crying but they are happy tears. I hope the humans who adopted these sweet babies will keep us posted about them. They won our hearts. I love hearing that Jasmine (formerly Slate) is in a happy and loving home and adjusting very well. Thank you again, Connie, for sharing their journey with us and for all that you do. I hope you get kittens soon.
ReplyDeleteGoodbyes are bittersweet aren't they? I'm sure they will bring so much joy to their furever homes.

Sad and sweet. You did good. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood-bye, little ones! I know you will have happy homes.
ReplyDeletePurrs kittens, we hope you are all furry happy in your furever homes. We'll miss seeing your sweet little faces.
ReplyDeleteWe're petsitting for a neighbor who has an 18 month old and what did I see in their living room but a cat version of Happy Bear! It was white with black spots all over it (I can't remember if they were little pictures, or just spots) and it absolutely had cat ears. Can't find one online right now to show you but I said, "Happy Cat!"
