Well at this point there are no kittens at the shelter for me. A friend of mine is fostering for a different rescue and she has kittens but she is going away for the holiday and asked if I wouldn't mind taking over her kittens.
I was very hesitant to do so. See her kittens are very scared and two are still in that feralish stage. They are past the age when I feel I can properly give them the attention they need to come to accept humans, so I very much wanted to say no afraid I'd become too attached, but I really wanted kittens. So I came to the decision that it would do them a world of good to go from one safe environment (where they were) to another (where they are now) and back again. So I agreed to take them on the condition they go back to her as soon as she gets home.
So meet the visitors.. (images all blatantly stolen from
Wendy's facebook account since they haven't really come out for me to see yet)

Keith - boy |

Sonsa - girl |
These two are more outgoing. I've seen both of them come out from under the couch while I was in the room. I can eventually touch both of them. The other two have plastered themselves behind the couch. I have yet to see them on the
web cam, but I'm sure they came out and ate last night.. if I don't see them today I'll force the issue tonight, just to make sure they are OK.

Look at Keith's "froot bat" ears. LOL. Adorable.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with Sonsa, such beautiful colouring and markings. Oh heck, they're ALL just too precious for words. Good luck kitten-sitting.
I was startled to see kittens today when I checked the Drop Cam! They were quite active at 4am (your time) I can tell you! :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully being with you will do the shy ones some good...fingers crossed! I didn't realise there were 4 though. 3 at most I think I've seen... :(
Oh it is so nice of you to do this. And they are CUTE.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you have a kitty cam! That's so cool! I've always wanted one so I can spy on the ktities here when we're not home. I read in a book about a lady who had a cat cam that she look at on her phone.
ReplyDeleteThese kittens are beautiful. I hope all goes well and they start to feel more comfortable.
the drop cam (linked above) has an app so I can watch them on my cell phone. I can also watch them online, and share the link so others can watch directly..
Deleteif you can't find kittens of your own, borrow some. :) we bet a little change up will show them life really is ok.
ReplyDeleteaww so cute,I reckon you're right about the change,xx Rachel
ReplyDeleteThose are very good-looking babies! Hope you make some progress with them in the short time they are with you.
ReplyDeleteI love your furry logic! I am so happy for you and the kittens that you get to spend some time together.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful little kittens. Hopefully they'll come around soon. Enjoy your kitten sitting duties!
ReplyDeleteI may have hurt my squee muscle from that Sonsa
ReplyDeleteThey're adorable. Changing their environment, even for a short time, might help, so that's a good idea. And you're the best kitten-sitter we know!
ReplyDeleteThey're so cute. You're gonna have a fun holiday weekend with them.
ReplyDeleteAww, they are cute and I'm glad you accepted the challenge, Connie. You can work your magic on them as you did with Faraday, Max and Allie.
ReplyDeleteWhat darlings they are...here's hoping you can make some headway with them. Have a great 4th of July, everyone!
ReplyDeletethey are very cute. don't suppose you have any tips for dealing with a 5 week old feral kitten found in the middle of the road? It has been taken to the vets and is fine but my friend now needs to look after it.
ReplyDeleteI do. I wrote a whole post about it too ;)
