And once again the kitten room is empty. This batch was only here while they needed medical treatment and when they stopped blowing snot bubbles almost immediately and healed up quickly, they started becoming overly rambunctious and started trying to sneak past me when ever I walked in the kitten room. I tried to return them last week but there was 'no room at the inn' as it were, and when I got an email on Friday saying they could come back, Cattius Finch had a bit of goop in his eye.
I held on to them to see what would happen, but it cleared up so yesterday afternoon I brought them to the shelter. Someone contacted me about potentially adopting one or two of the kittens, but no further contact was made on that front, so they have gone back to the shelter to wait for their people to show up. They are lovely kittens and while they aren't the most open to new situations, they are far and above others that I have had, so I am sure they will do fine.
I was a little concerned that they weren't going to be able to take them back, since they just imported 70ish animals from Georgia, but they had reserved me a cage. They will go up for adoption before they are neutered, and neutered before they go home. I wish them well.
They are very cute - I'm sure they'll do fine. We just finished getting rid of our ant invasion! Paws crossed they stay away for at least a while. If you have any ant banishing tips, do let my human know!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry to see these cuties leave but I know they will find good homes and do just fine like Faraday and Maxwell. I found the Terro Liquid Ant Baits to work the best. They come 6 to a box and even an exterminator recommended it. When I first used it, the ants were dropping by the thousands. I couldn't believe it. It does take a while to eliminate them and you can never let your guard down when you don't see them anymore. I keep them out all the time. A word of caution. If you plan to use them, do not put them inside of your home because they will attract ants by the hundreds. I had to look for their trial outside where they were crawling around the perimeter of the garage so that is where I put the baits. They were already in the house by that time but they were slowly drawn outside by the baits. I used U-Glu adhesive tape to hold them onto the garage's brick wall but if they are on the ground, you can put them there without using tape. Hope this helps. You can also make your own ant bait traps if you search Google but I was just too lazy to make my own. Ants drive me crazy, too.
ReplyDeleteWe sure do wish those cuties well too and we hope they find their happy soon!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute. I hope the potential adopter will come see them soon. I'm sure they'll do fine :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to take care of the ant invasion. They are really hard to eliminate...
Goodbye, sweeties. Good luck in your new homes.
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed watching the kittens blossom. We hope they won't have long to wait for their furrever families.
ReplyDeletemom read the headline and was worried that something happened to Happy Bear :)
ReplyDeleteWe hope the kittens get adopted quick....and your vacancy doesn't last long (mom says she has a couple of snotty kittens she would be willing to send you)
Look at it this way...no kittens CAN be a good sign!
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I know it is an awesome thing. I'm just selfish because it means not good things for me and for this blog. But I know I don't have to go far to find some, so if we aren't cat sitting I'll go out and find some.
DeleteHoping those little cutie pies find wonderful forever homes real soon.
ReplyDeleteSuch cutie pies! We wish them all the best,
ReplyDeleteand loving homes too :)
Purrs Georgia and Julie,

ReplyDeleteemma and buster
Those three are so cute, I'm certain they will find their forever homes soon. I hope the vacancy doesn't last!
ReplyDeleteWe're sorry to see them go, but it'll be good to see the next batch of kitties visit.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like ant invasions are going around the blogosphere recently. We had a terrible one, too, that finally sent the head peep to the "learn to be your own exterminator" store. She used that stuff outside and terro baits in hidden spots inside (inside the pantry, backs of cabinets). She started sweeping up dead ants nearly immediately, and that lasted two weeks almost to the day before they were gone. Hopefully that will do it. We don't ever want to see swarms of ants like that again.
Those kits are so cute...we're sure they'll be in their new homes in no time.
ReplyDeleteOh, how we are going to miss these precious little rascals. That video was so wonderpurr. We will look forward to meeting the next residents of the kitten room. If you get rid of those ants, Mom asks that you please let her know how you did it. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteGood luck to the kittens ! We hope you'll be able to get rid of the ants ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteThey are all cuties- they will have no problem getting forever homes.
ReplyDeleteI hope the ants will just go marching out soon. We love seeing the kittens on your blog, and I am sure there will be more soon, but maybe you can have a little relaxing time. You sure earn it!
ReplyDeleteThey sure are some cute kittens. No doubt they won't have any trouble finding homes.
