The kittens are doing well physically. They went to the shelter on Friday and received their booster vaccines along with another nail trim and did fairly well. I was expecting them to come home and hide for an hour, but Sarah walked out of the carrier, went about two feet away and then flomped on the floor and showed me her belly. They are making more and more moves like they would very much like me to give them attention, but everytime I try they run. So I sit here and ignore them, and sometimes something amazing happens like Sarah steps on my leg, or Mary comes within a foot of me. I ache to hold them and pat them and bring love and comfort from a human into their lives but for now this is what it is. I have to keep reminding myself that they ARE making progress. When they first showed up they wouldn't walk across the middle of the room, now they are openly laying in it. They are happy to play and wrestle and eat in my presence... and with a toy, we can get this happening..
I still think the lady is weird, and those grabby things need to stay far far away
They ARE making progress. And they are still babies, so it's all good.
ReplyDeleteThey're coming around, but it sure takes patience, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteAwww such precious babies. They are making progress, slowly but definitely!
ReplyDeleteProgress! Something to celebrate. That kitten on your leg photo is adorable!
