When I first heard about Umbrella Day, I had images of foster kittens and little paper umbrellas that you get in fruity drinks, but since my current foster kittens aren't really up to participating in my shenanigans, I had to make them think this was their idea.
I do have to say introducing them to an umbrella was a nice step in their training. Getting them used to new and weird things slowly help them adjust to accepting new weird things, like great big people things that want to pick them up and kiss them.
Mom had no issues with the umbrella, it didn't freak her out at all and she climbed right up into it. The kittens, however, took much longer to come around.
I really need to work more on their confidence levels; this was a good start.
What a great idea! Love it. We'll be having one of those now this evening, for myself, who at 4 years am still really not keen on those things. purrs
