Wednesday's kitty is full of woe

Muffin is doing okayish. She's 14 so old age is setting in. She is still limping and still not wanting to go downstairs to use the litter box so we have one upstairs, and sadly she has to put up with all of the able body kitties using it.

We haven't figured out exactly why she is limping but we suspect arthritis. Nothing showed up on the x-rays, but the vet said it doesn't until it is bad.

I gave her some Cosequin and some hyaluronic acid for a few weeks without noticeable improvement, so I ordered some Adaquan for her. We are into week two on that, and so far she's still limping and I don't see improvement, but I'm hopeful in a few more weeks we will.

  6. Sweet Muffin, we hope you begin to feel better and that your limp is just a sore muscle or tendon. Our Mom, who just learned what arthritis on a kitty X-ray looks like (Sunny has it), didn't see anything on yours that looks obvious. Sending purrs!

  7. Muffin is a sweety! I hope you find a way to cure her limp; have you thought about a animal chiropractor for her?

  8. We hope the Adequan helps her. It's been very helpful for Benny, but he wasn't limping though.

  11. But she is lovely!! We're dealing with arthritis here too, for Toby. Leia doesn't seem to be affected yet. I went through three months of Depo but the last shot didn't help as much. So we are just about to start Meloxicam drops.

    1. Oh, and from what we've learned, it may take as long as 4-6 weeks to see any benefits from giving the glucosamine supplement.

  15. Pain sucks in humans and kitties, just saying although in one of those photos I thought you were in a saucepan ready to be cooked which was disturbing
