Odilia napping as I type this |
So after I wrote the last post I sent an email to R, foster parent extraordinaire, to see if she would be willing to kitten sit Odilia while I'm away. R was fostering a pregnant mom who gave birth after an extremely long wait and now has five four week old kittens.

Chronologically Odilia is a few weeks older then they are, but developmentally she's probably not all that far off from them, so I think this is going to be a good fit. R thinks it will be too..
me.. I'm sitting here sobbing internally at the thought of giving her up even for a few days.. I fear that she'll be such a good fit that I'll not want to bring her back home once I get home.
Doing what is right is not always what is easy..
Awwww, Connie...kitty kisses and head butts from my boys. I really hope Odilia does fit wonderfully with these sweeties. Of course she needs to play and interact with other kittens, but were I in your shoes, I'd be openly sobbing! She's just such a dear, and I think because she has the challenge of having no eyes, the bond "I" would form (were I the foster mom, I mean) would be strong.
ReplyDeleteBut of course you have to put her best interests ahead of your own desires. And nope, that's not easy, not by a long shot.
I hope "R" will have time to take pics of them all together!
Awww, I'm sorry. However, this sounds like a wonderful situation for her. Thank you for putting her needs first.
ReplyDeleteAwww its sad but happy too!
ReplyDeleteit is so hard to do the right thing for them. sure your hubby won't kitten sit?? :)
ReplyDeletehe would, but he felt a little uncomfortable with it, and I get it. When he goes away and I have foster kittens I'm horribly overwhelmed.. and I'm kinda hoping he rips out those window boxes while I'm gone.. which it would be better if Odi wasn't in the room.
DeleteBesides, she needs to have a few conversations with a few other kittens..
Aw, I hope she fits in well, for her sake. What a bunch of sweeties
ReplyDeleteAwwww I think this will be a good thing for her....tell R to take plenty of pics for you!
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard when the hardest thing and the right thing are the same. Wishing you all the best.
ReplyDeleteAwww....life isn't fun sometimes. I hope she fits in okay, and has lots of fun while she's there. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOne of a number of reasons why our Dad is never likely to foster.
ReplyDeleteWe hope things work out for everyone, somehow.
We hope it works out ok, she will learn a lot from being with the other kitties. Its hard to let go sometimes, even for a few days. We'll be purring for you both. Our mom will be excited to meet you! Have a safe trip!
