Division of cats at Casa de Gato

I own seven cats.. I used to own eight, but with the passing of Ollie, things aren't as 'even' as they used to be. We used to have four girls and four boys..  it wasn't planned, it just worked out that way.

With each subsequent adoption, kitties have generally decided if they are 'my' kitty or 'DH's' kitty.  Muffin is most definitely "MY" cat.. where Kit is beyond a shadow of a doubt "Daddy's Girl"  We have some that lean toward him, and some that lean toward me but play the field, and then there is Eli who will go to whoever will pet him and generate the most static (he is so frustrated right now because he knows static season is coming, but it just isn't here yet)

Usually, when we watch TV I generally have more cats on me than he has on him, mostly because I often have a blanket or my electric blanket is on.  I like this very much and almost never complain about it.

Last night, however, DH had all of the kitties and I had none.  At the point in time when I took the photo he had four kitties.. shortly after I took it two more kitties showed up and sat on his side of the bed.  I was starting to feel a bit like I was being given the cold shoulder for some reason..

So I went downstairs and visited kittens, and they apparently didn't get the memo to ignore me tonight and I got my purr therapy and all was right with the world :)

  1. I am my human's cat, and her cat only. Binga belongs to both the humans equally! She likes to be between the two of them, in bed or on the couch, but if one of them needs her more, she gravitates to whoever that is. So if she spends more time with my human's boyfriend, she does not begrudge him that attention.

  2. Tutu and Ling are Daddy's little girls but it's only limited to pets and scritches. So I have cats around me all day long. Which suits me just fine. :)

  4. I know that feeling! However, like you, I usually get the cats first. It's the one thing I miss the most when I am away from home.

  7. Wait, we should be sending MEMOS around???

Faraday: I'm a 'momma's boy' for sure. I take after Ryker, and she thinks I'm channeling him, we're soo eerily similar.

Allie: I'm a Daddy's Girl through and through, except when he's got the restless leg thing going, then I'll hang with mother. If I *have* to.

  8. Our Horde has divided us between themselves; in a pinch they switch--but only when they are desperate!

  10. Usually ours split up at night on the bed as well. Some on my side and some on their dad's side. Lily has to be in tmiddle. I guess that is the privilege of the eldest. Giulietta and Fiona never sleep on the bed but curl up together in a tight ball wherever they feel like sleeping. Only one kitty is truly her daddy's girl and that is Giulietta. I wonder how they decide who is going to be their person. Janet

  11. Its funny how kitties pick people. My first cat loved me until I got married. Then she would walk over me to get to my husband, just to point out she was by passing me. But at night all the cats slept on my side of the bed so it was really crowded.
