Changes at Casa de Gato

so since we moved into this house a half dozen or so years ago I wanted to put a fireplace on the large wall in the great room.

Yes, we constantly deal with clutter.. I can't seem to throw anything away!
Well this past winter we went to the stove shop and saw a fireplace on clearance, and it was pretty, so I went for it.  It took some time to get all of the logistics down, and because we used people we know to do the construction it took a little longer still.. but considering how much we saved and how long we had been waiting for this in the first place, it was well worth it.

There was a while these book shelves weren't in,
and Fleurp had a GRAND ol time jumping in and out and investigating
We moved furniture sets around to make it cozier
Skippy TOTALLY approves.
I prefer he admire at a distance, as he has already coated the glass with sneeze discharge

Just in time for the warm weather.. isn't that the way.. :) That happened last year as well with the pellet stove we bought.  That's OK, come fall it will already be there and it will be awesome to fire it up on those snowy days.  The plan is to put the Christmas Tree in the cubby on the left where the cat tree currently is.. We have a rather narrow artificial tree so we believe it will fit nicely.

  11. Gorgeous! So how many times did you count cat noses before you let them close the hole in the wall?

Also? I'm still finding Abby snot on the baseboards 4 months after she was adopted.

  14. That is so great. Who knew you could add something like that and make it look as if it had always been there? We have a fireplace, but it burns coal. Mommy wants gas logs, but she can't convince our dad. We know we'd like it and all your kids are going to really love that warmth next winter.
