Kittens in a cardboard box
So apparently Snow wanted them to be in the cardboard box. *shrug* no idea why this is preferred but it is, and who am I to tell her how to raise her kittens?
But I couldn't stand them all having so little room so I went and got a bigger box and swapped them out.
As you can see she is "chickening" again. She slowed down quite a bit on the consumption of food, and had a bit of diarrhea on Tuesday. I gave her some raw food which she ate and seemed to enjoy, so hopefully that will help things settle. I am also going to start mixing some probiotics in with her food and hopefully that won't turn her off the rest of her food. Right before I swapped out the boxes she did lay down and wanted me to rub her belly so she's not all that uncomfortable. I am so hoping this is a temporary thing and things are back on track soon. The kits were a little underfed so I gave them all some KMR last night, some took a lot, some took very little - which is good.
Hopefully this box will be acceptable for Snow and we'll be able to set the camera up to watch them tomorrow.

I wonder if the smell of the cardboard is familiar to her. She looks happier.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the raw will help settle her tummy. Probiotics are a good idea too.
ReplyDeleteShe sure looks content! I hope she is feeling better today.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is the higher sides....those kitts are primed to make a run for it. :) Hopefully she will settle in and keep eating.
ReplyDeleteSnow does look happy... I hope the raw and probiotics does the trick for her.
ReplyDeletewell may she is still a bit tender from what ever upset her and the diarrhea is just the last bit shifting out of her system, and I expect that feeding all those mouths with little teeth is probably making her a bit tender at times too still aleast she is trying to be a good mama,xx Rachel
ReplyDeleteYAY for the raw food! We have noooo experience with the whole mom-nursing-kits thing so we're looking on and learning!
ReplyDeleteNothing better than towels in a cardboard box, is there Snow?
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely kittens and mum!!!
ReplyDeleteSnow looks a little more content, hope she continues to improve and get over whatever it is that is causing problems. The kits look like they've grown, between the two of you they look great!
ReplyDeleteWe hope Snow continues to improve. She looks happier in that box.
ReplyDeleteJust stopped by and read some older posts. I hope she feels better soon. Those kittehs are sweet, and so is their momma.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like this is a nice box for her and the little ones. Purrs for the problem to clear up.
