So when I went to the shelter the other week to take photos I went with a purpose in mind.. I love going there and photographing kitties for several reasons, one it highlights that there are beautiful cats in shelters waiting for homes and it gives me more practice photographing cats and what ever else is there that strikes my fancy.. This time I went with one kitty in particular in mind, but I spent time photographing the others first..
But I went in to see this handsome boy! I saw him the day before. His coloring is called "Chocolate Frosted" I mean seriously, how cool is that?? I so wanted to adopt him simply to be able to say I owned a chocolate frosted kitty, but that isn't a good reason to adopt a kitty. Fortunately the first day I saw him he wasn't overly friendly - mostly because he was freshly neutered so he was a bit groggy. But I wanted to go back and capture an image of him to keep with me..
Annoyingly he was SUPER friendly the next day and I can't tell you how badly I wanted to adopt him because he was SUPER friendly.. but again I know full well The Crew is at their limit and sadly I left with out him, but I have those few moments of snuggling and it made us both happy..
Whomever adopted him got very lucky indeed..
He also reminds me of a kitten I fostered in 2010 that had chocolate dipped toes..

ReplyDeleteAll the photos are stunning. Look at the eye freckles the second cat has! Derry just has one. Those pups are just too adorable for words, and Mr. Chocolate Frosted is absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSuper shots, well done! I'm drooling with envy over (a) your camera and (b) your knowledge of how to use it!
So cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo's they're so good. I need to start taking my proper camera to the Shelter with me! Such beautiful animals too. It's certainly hard not to come home with them. Can't wait to read through your blog, but for now, bed is calling!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely house panther in the first photo! And how unusual a frosted chocolate cat is! We'd love to have one too. Carl has a couple eye freckles in one eye, but they are very small.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kitty and I do agree the first cat looks like a panther! thanks for the visit. skipper
ReplyDeleteThe chocolate frosted kitty is very unusual looking. Mommy, of course, like the first black kitty the best. She's nuts for the black kitties, but like you, we are at capacity. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Omg, the chocolate frosted cat is so beautiful! I love his fluffy coat and his gorgeous eyes. I wouldn't have been able to resist, I'd have adopted him in a hurry :)
ReplyDeleteYep, if we lived near you we would be adopting "Chocolate Frosted"! Gorgeous eyes on the gray kitty too.
ReplyDeleteDad says he has this issue whenever he does volunteer work with local groups. We have to tell him that we are at the limit with a bit of cat-action as we are 5 males and one lady in a pretty small area.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos
