The cats who love me
"Skinny" is growling at me constantly when I am in the foster room, it is starting to give me a complex. I talk to her softly, I tell her she has nothing to fear, I make sure she has food and water, I scoop her box, she tells me to leave. I sit and I watch tv, she tells me to leave. I try to wait until she's not growling to leave but she makes it hard because when I get up to go she growls. I feel horrible for her and can only imagine what she is going through..
But it is always nice when I do leave the room and come back to the cats who love me:
Okay, maybe not Kit.. she loves my husband more, especially since I have to medicate her at the moment.. but even she loves me more than our poor foster mom.
Don't forget, you can always check in on the kittens via the webcams I have linked at the top of this page. So far, the angle is pretty good, despite the fact that she is behind the couch. But because of that, it is usually in night vision mode so it is usually in black and white, but considering where she is, it's not bad.

I feel really bad for the mom cat. :-( If only she knew you just wanted to help.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad you get to return to the regularly scheduled kittehs. We know it's hard to be treated so badly by mom cat. She just doesn't understand.
ReplyDeletePoor mama cat. I hope she learns to trust you. Or at least stops growling.
ReplyDeletePoor mom cat. The day she will just stop growling will be a big step forward. Purrs
ReplyDeleteShe will get there, it's just gonna take a whole load of time and patience. But it will make it that much better when she does finally let you in
ReplyDeleteI've been watching the nestcam...Skinny is a good mama; she's growling at you but she's taking care of her babes. She will come around, and you are doing a good job as foster mom!
ReplyDeletesometimes you just gotta go with those that love you (and hope the momma cat will calm down with time)
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better, it probably helps Skinny's ego to successfully drive you off with those growls.

ReplyDeleteAww... she may not love you, but she just doesn't know that she and her babies are so much better off with you. But I agree, if I were you I think it would be refreshing to see some friendly faces after being told off by Mama!
ReplyDeleteHang in there! I know it sucks to be so misunderstood, but Skinny is doing the best she can. As are you.
ReplyDeleteI hope Skinny will gradually realize that she's safe. Try not to take it personally--though I understand what you're saying. At least you have kitties to cuddle with after visits. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe bet she'll come around. But if it makes you feel any better, Zoey...after 7 years of being here...will still hiss at the mom. For no reason. The mom just shrugs and says it's a girl thing.
ReplyDeleteI've been working on Scouty for eight years now...give it time, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI hope Skinny soon realizes you are there to help her, not harm her.
ReplyDelete99 cats out of a 100 can love you, but that one kitty that doesn't can really get to you!!
ReplyDeleteMommy especially cooed over Jack's nose and Skippy's pose!
