When I got home from work the other day I looked out into the pussy willow bushes I have in my back yard and saw a dark mass within it. I didn't remember seeing it the day before. I wondered if it was a bird nest, or some weird bird..
it took me far too long to figure out what it was.
and it was not alone
so who knew that porcupines climbed trees?
Wow!! Yes, I did know that. But I wouldn't have guessed it'd be a porcupine!
ReplyDeleteI must admit I was half expecting a giant, fuzzy cat...
DeleteI didn't know that! But then, I've never seen a porcupine in person!
ReplyDeleteOMB now that I didn't know about Porcupines,xx Rachel
ReplyDeleteNot us ! Amazing ! But the most amazing would be to see a porcupine in the wild for us ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteWe learned something new today!
ReplyDeleteWow! I've only seen porcupines in zoos!
ReplyDeleteWow! I've only seen porcupines in zoos!
ReplyDeleteHow weird. I would've never thought them to climb trees.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought it was going to be a cat. . hee hee.
ReplyDeleteGot to that fourth picture and was "is that a porcupine??" cool
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a groundhog at first, but I know they don't climb trees. Would have never guessed a porcupine, if you didn't have that last photo.
ReplyDeleteWe had no idea.
ReplyDeleteUntil you said what it was I thought it was a hat :(
ReplyDeleteWow, I had no idea either.
ReplyDeleteEmma and Buster
I didn't know that they climbed trees either.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was going to be a cat!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they climbed trees either. My mum saw them in the wild when she was in Alaska.
Eastside - groundhogs DO climb trees ! One morning at dawn my dogs treed a groundhog that had wandered into their Invisible-Fenced-in yard. It was up near the top of a 20-25 foot tree. I don't think we have porcupines this far south (NE Ohio). Lots of possums, though ! Great pictures !
ReplyDeleteWe didn't know that. We didn't know that you had porcupines up there, either. That's practically the only spiky thing we don't have this far south.
ReplyDeleteWhat a discovery!
