Scotty McTattletail

Well Mr. Scotty had a major case of the ADRs.. (ain't doin right) and I just couldn't deal with it any more, so I brought him to the shelter for observation.

I gave him the medicine the shelter gave me, pro-pectalin, and almost immediately I stopped seeing liquid diarrhea.  He went to the box shortly after and attempted to go poop and nothing came out.  I wasn't surprised because in the past he went and passed massive amounts of gas and only a little dribble of stool with it.  I figured if things were firming up he was probably just passing gas.  When I saw him do it a second time though, that was weird..

His tushie was still covered in poop, and he still was very reactive to my trying to clean him off, mewing and hissing at me.  He also hadn't gained any weight all week.  Last night he was uncomfortable being held - which was the last straw for me.

On the positive side, he had been eating and hadn't lost any weight.  He was playing.  He wasn't attention seeking, but he would sit on my lap when Odilia and Trevor were up in my neck.   The litter box also had three kitten's worth of poop in there, so while I hadn't seen it, I am fairly certain he was going.

So he's got his own litter box tonight to see what comes out, and he got some fluids to be on the safe side.  If need be, he'll see a vet in the AM, and if not he'll come back.
