Meet the kittens

We have the three tuxie girls:
Lots of white nose
Little white nose
Sweetie, turn your wee head so we can see your no white nose..
Much better, thank you
Yes dear, you make beautiful kittens
Then we have the two fluffy black kittens, one boy one girl.  I'm having a hard time being able to tell them apart.  I took these photos, and I KNOW there are two different kittens in these three photos, and I'm fairly certain I know who is who.. can you tell the difference?  (I ended up clipping the fur on the tail of the girl so can tell them apart from across the room, it wasn't easy because her actual tail went almost to the end of her fur, but I did get it done; unfortunately it is pretty subtle so it will be interesting to see if I can tell tomorrow)
Silly humans.. they look NOTHING alike to me!
Once again I'm left to name kitties.I am no longer any good at this part.. four girls and a boy and a mom.. feel free to shout out your ideas!

  1. Are the first two pictures (of the black kitties) the same kitty? From the photos, the only "difference" I was able to spot would be the eyes. One has rounder eyes (the top picture) and the other seem to have more of "cat like" eyes (slant).
Good luck with naming them. I take forever to come up with names since I want it to match their personality. :)

  2. They are so cute and growing fast. I am sure you will find names which are appropriate to their various personalities - Mummy has her thinking cap on!
    Purrs ... Rainbow

  3. I can't tell the two black ones apart, though I do see the difference in eye shape mentioned in the first comment. Or what seems to be. But even so, nope, I'd never distinguish between the two without CLOSE scrutiny. LOL.

  5. Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe, Bob and Lucy... I don't know... it's too early for creativeness I think. LOL!

No matter their names - they are all adorable!

  6. To what Furries of Whispy said--the eyes were the only difference, unless that was just their expression at the moment.

Since you had Romeo and Juliet, maybe other names from literature? Jane Eyre comes to mind. Wikipedia lists the character names: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Eyre

  8. Mommy is being disingenuous. She knows perfectly well that humans can't SMELL the difference. Thank goodness today's three came with labels.

  10. So cute!!! How sweet of the tuxies to make sure you can tell the difference with their noses! But those ornery black kitties! Who wants to have to peek under a tail to see who they're talking to! MOL
Is it my imagination or a trick of my laptop screen.. does one of the black kittens have a slightly lighter chest? a little bib? maybe.. no? must be me...

  11. How about April, May, June, Juli and August? They are cuties. The all-black-nose looks like she's wearing a mask; obviously soon to be ready for mischief.

Thank you for the kind comments you made on my blog about Tucker and me. Your remark about someone not wanting a cat because it doesn't match the couch brought to mind what happened to the lady at Feral Cats Behaviour. She rescues cats and had a woman contact her for a calico - to match her drapes. Fortunately, wrote Feral Cats Behaviour, there were no cats that matched - it saved her having to throw the woman out.

Can you imagine wanting a living thing for that reason? What happens if you have children and you re-decorate. The mind boggles.

One time a few people suggested a hat theme when the 50 Kittens folks had a litter, the names were very cute. Fedora, Tam, Boater, Cap, Tuque, Sombrero, Turban, Bonnet, Beanie I can't remember all of them but they were fun. I think this came up because the mom was called Hattie in the shelter, but your momcat is so gorgeous I think she should be Fedora. If you go to Wikipedia to the entry for "Hat" there is a huge wonderful list.

  18. I am putting on my thinking cap. I kind of like catsonville's suggestion, but I also like the idea of giving them a surname, and then coming up with names that harmonize with the surname (that also fit their purrsonalities). I'm thinking..........
