Popping
I went down to visit Jordan at around 7 AM EST, and saw this...
She seemed uncomfortable, in that she didn't really have a heck of a lot of room to move around. I tried offering her a larger box, but she preferred the safety of the 'cave', so I rigged this up...
See the corner of the box? Then I left her alone for about twenty minutes.. and came back to this...
Yup, those are baby ears. she was in the process of cleaning it off, and I wasn't really helping, so I covered her back up and came to post. I just wanted to make sure things were progressing nicely, and they are... so much so we had another back end peaking out when I was peeking.. at least I think it is a back end.
From what I can tell at this very early stage of things, the first kitten seems in good health. Good set of lungs when I pulled it away to take a closer look. Jordan got a little ... confused, flummoxed?.. not quite distressed, but willing to let me take the kitten, so I gave it right back. I didn't want her to think she didn't have to deal with it. I really wanted to change out that pink blanket because it is not sturdy enough and keeps exposing the hard plastic, but I figured that would stress her out more, and the babies are crawling right up on top of her anyway..
More to come
(and I'll share last night's visit and the nail trimming)
